Day 01

Tarangire National Park

Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide, who will brief you on your exciting safari adventure. From there, embark on a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, renowned for its iconic baobab trees, vast elephant herds, and breathtaking landscapes.

Upon entering the park, immerse yourself in a thrilling game drive, where you’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species. As you explore, take in the park’s dynamic scenery, from lush riverbanks to open savannahs. A delicious picnic lunch will be served in the heart of this wildlife haven.

In the late afternoon, leave Tarangire behind and head to your lodge in Karatu, a tranquil retreat surrounded by lush greenery. Arrive in time for a delightful dinner and an evening of relaxation, preparing for more adventures to come.

Karatu – Lake Eyasi

After an early breakfast, journey to the enchanting Lake Eyasi, a captivating soda lake located at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment, about 1.5 hours from Karatu. This hidden gem is rich in cultural and natural treasures, offering an authentic glimpse into Tanzania’s diverse heritage. Spend the day engaging with the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes, learning about their ancient customs and daily lives. The Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, will share their traditional hunting and survival techniques, while the Datoga will introduce you to their intricate blacksmithing skills.

The serene lake itself is a haven for birdwatchers, with species such as flamingos, pelicans, and storks dotting its shores. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the tranquil beauty of this off-the-beaten-path destination.

After your cultural adventure, return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Eileen’s Trees Inn, where you can reflect on the day’s rich experiences.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 1-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Descend into this UNESCO World Heritage Site for an unforgettable game drive.The crater’s unique ecosystem is teeming with wildlife, offering a chance to spot lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and countless other species.Explore diverse landscapes, from sweeping grasslands to shimmering lakes fringed with pink flamingos, while your guide shares captivating insights about the crater’s history and natural wonders. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. In the early afternoon, ascend the crater walls and begin your journey back to Arusha. Dependingon your onward travel plans, you’ll be transferred directly to either Kilimanjaro InternationalAirport or Arusha Airport, leaving Tanzania with incredible memories of its wildlife and stunning landscapes.
